The Curse of The Golden Flower…
I cant believe i went and saw this film all by myself…and i must admit i enjoyed every moment of it…well i guess i was one of the few people in the cinema who depended on subtitles, but it was still an excellent film…i guess this is the movie of the year for me…even better than the departed…anyways, the storyline and plot is rather interesting…although i was able to understand the story by the second half of the film…the ending is rather sad though…
the directing is rather good and so was cinematography…i must say i have grown to love chinese martial cinematography…i was rather amazed with the special effects as well…i cant say much about the script as i dun understand the language but based on subtitles i guess its ok…
joanne was mad at me since i watched it before them but hell, i just wanted to know how it felt watching a chinese film all by myself…kajon might find it boring as the first hour is mostly conversations but its in these conversations where i find the movie really interesting…
i give this movie a 9.5 out of 10…i wouldnt be surprise if it gets an oscar nomination for best foreign film…
