World War 3…
A small excerpt from what i think is going to be a novel im going to write…
Ian sensed something was wrong…He could see it written all over Rebecca’s face…But she didn’t want to tell him…Ian approached her and put his arms around her and…We interrupt this program for this breaking news…
The entire family screamed towards the television set…Why cut the show now when there was only a couple more minutes left into it…Rachel told her mum to calm down and listen what the newscaster was saying…Her dad on the other hand got up and left for the toilet…As they watched the news, the newscaster read out, "The Singaporean Government has declared war with Malaysia…Once again I repeat, the Singaporean Government has declared war with Malaysia…We will now go live to Putrajaya to get the latest updates from out correspondence there"
Rachel was shocked hearing that…Did she hear that right? Was it a scam, a joke? Her mum called her dad to rush from the toilet and watch…The phone rang next…Rachel picked it up…It was for her dad…He came and spoke…After a short conversation, he put the phone down and told them,"I have been called back…They need me…We’re going to war…"
Rachel could not believe what she was hearing from her dad…And why was Singapore going to have a war with Malaysia?…Rachel started crying…Her mum picked up the phone and started calling all their relatives in Malaysia…Rachel’s dad approached her…He gave her a hug and said everything is gonna be all right…"I dont like doing this but i have to do it," he said…But Rachel wasn’t really thinking of her dad going to war…She was more worried about her friends who have gone to study in Malaysia…
Rachel had many childhood memories of Malaysia…Being a half Malaysian and half Singaporean wasn’t easy…She ran up to her room…Her cell phone rang…She picked it up, “Hey Rachel…”a voice came softly… “You heard the news?” the voice continued… “Hi Ben…I heard it…what’s going to happen to us?”she said that with a soft voice and was about to start crying…
“Calm down Rachel…I’m sure both our governments would come to a mutual understanding and the war won’t really take place…”
Before Rachel could say anything, she heard a huge explosion outside…Glasses shattered…Their entire flat rumbled…
“The Malaysians are attacking!!!!!!!” screamed her mum…
“Rachel, everything all right?” asked Ben over the phone… “What was that loud sound?”
“They’re attacking Ben…They’re really attacking us…What am I going to do…Hello?…Ben? You there?….Hello?” cried Rachel…
“The phone lines are dead…You guys stay here…I’m going to see if anyone is hurt…” said her dad…
Rachel hugged her mum and started to cry…Her mum was crying as well…Rachel looked out off her apartment window…They were living on the 25th floor…She could see a huge cloud of smoke coming from the town…
Her dad came back… “It’s not safe for us here…They are attacking us full force…They have already gathered at out borders…Our forces are holding them but I don’t know for how long…The public are getting ready for battle and shall we…If it’s a war they want, it’s a war they’ll get…”
They packed some stuff and went down… “You guys go to Aunt Julia’s house and remain there until I call…I need to get to the base…” he said…
Rachel hugged her dad and told him to be careful…Her mum was crying and so worried for her husband…They got in their car and drove off to Aunt Julia’s house…
Meanwhile at the border, Malaysian tanks were firing into Singapore…But they were no match for the Singaporean Air Force…Within an hour of their first attack, the Singapore jets went into Malaysian airspace and started bombarding the south border…The Singaporeans seem to have the upper hand in the air force until the Malaysian sent in their jets…The dogfights have begun…It was the first air to air battle in the 21st century…Still the Singaporean jets were more faster and better than the Malaysian ones…As they fired at each other, Malaysian tanks started crossing the causeway…The tanks drove over the causeway…
On the bridge, troops marched across, thousands of Malaysian troops…The Singaporeans were outnumbered…But the public were already getting their arms from the bases…They have had their military training and were prepared for war…The Americans had scrambled their jets from their Singaporean base and had sent their battleships…But they had no permission to attack from the president yet…
In the air, the Malaysian jets were outnumbered 5 to 1 but they were still able to put on a good fight…A few planes were already down with the ground troops firing into the air…And then, the Americans came in…Their jets fired towards the Malaysians and brought them out…They then fired to the troops…
As the battle was going on in the south, up north, Ali was watching the news in Penang and was shocked to see what he was seeing…The news than was interrupted again…A nuclear bomb had just gone off in Mumbai, India…Tens of Thousands are dead…Ali called his brother in Delhi immediately who was there on holiday…
“Hello…”
“Amir, whats happening there? I just saw in the news that a nuclear bomb had gone in Mumbai! Are you allright? Whats happening?”
“I don’t know…Things are pretty chaotic here…Just minutes ago I heard on the radio that we attacked Singapore? What the hell is going on?” Amir said
“I have no idea also…The kids are sleeping…Farah’s gone to her mum’s…It’s pretty scary…Something big is happening…”
“Okok…get back to me later…I think there’s a special report on the situation on the news now…”
Ali turned back the television on… “North Korea has fired 2 off it’s long range missiles…One hit downtown Los Angeles while the other hit Alaska…The President has ordered the military to go full force with North Korea and neutralize the situation…”
“SHIT!!!” screamed Ali…
Half way across the world, in a small house in Marseille, Jean and his family was shocked with what they were hearing in the news… And then, another breaking news…Several huge bomb explosions in London, Paris, Glasgow and Madrid… “This just came in, the Vatican City has been wiped out…” the newscaster said with tears…
“Daddy, what’s happening?” his daughter asked him…
“WORLD WAR 3” he replied…
